The Holy Eucharist is a sacrifice: It is an un-bloody re-presentation or re-enactment of Jesus sacrifice on Calvary, completed in his Resurrection. The Last Supper, during which Jesus instituted it, is the pre-figuration of Jesus' death on the cross for the salvation of mankind, for the remission of our sins.
